Biography

Dr. Win’s major areas of research interest are signal transduction in drug-induced hepatotoxicity, regulation of mitochondrial bioenergetic signaling in hepatotoxicity, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), oxidative stress, and identification of therapeutic target to prevent drug-induced hepatotoxicity. Her current research includes metabolic stress induces mitochondrial dysfunction leading to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Dr. Win earned her medical degree from the University of Yangon Institute of Medicine. She then went on to perform her Medicine and Surgery Internship and Residency at the University of Yangon General Hospital, followed by her PhD in Immunology and Molecular Biology from Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Win currently holds a position at Keck School of Medicine of USC as an Assistant Professor of Research Medicine.
